Akeem Lloyd
LOT Director of Programming


Akeem Lloyd was raised in Atlantic City, NJ by his grandparents. He has six younger sisters and two older brothers. After graduating from Atlantic City High School, he attended Rutgers University where he completed his B.A in African American Studies with a minor in History, becoming the first person in his family to graduate from college. He continued his studies at Temple University's School of Education, where

he earned his M.Ed focusing on Youth Development.

Akeem has dedicated his efforts to helping young people believe that they can "Break The Cycle". 

Akeem was selected as one of the "Faces of My Brother's Keeper" White House initiative, the initiative that President Obama created to support young men of color. To continue to be an agent of change in this area, he created AkeemSpeaks, which allows him to travel and use powerful and inspiring messages to give back to the youth.
